Intermediate to Advanced
Class Start Date: January 20th , End Date: March 23rd
Days: Fridays, Time: 9:30am-12:00pm
This course emphasizes the artistic importance of drawing. We’ll explore a range of drawing methods: both traditional and nontraditional techniques. We’ll focus on increasing visual sensitivity, cultivating technical skills, and understanding the steps of building a drawing.
Age Range: 16 and up

Class 1 January 20th – Out of Focus Drawing (newsprint, kneaded erasers, and vine charcoal)
Class 2 January 27th – Graphite Reduction, Rorschach Drawing
Class 3 February 3rd – Graphite Reduction, Rorschach Drawing w/photo ref.
Class 4 February 10th – An Exploration of Line
No Class February 17th (instructor birthday)
*Class 5 February 24th– Figure Drawing, “The Warm Up”, 10sec-15min poses gesture, weight, movement
*Class 6 March 2nd – Figure Drawing, “Richard Diebenkorn Drawing”, ghost images
*Class 7 March 9th – Figure Drawing, “Alberto Giacometti Drawing”, carve out the figure
*Class 8 March 16th – Figure Drawing, “Georges Seurat Drawing”, soft hand conte
Class 9 March 23rd – All Day Class Crit. 9:30-3:30pm, bring food!
Please note that there is a $4 per day fee when we are working from the model.
