Basic Principles of Drawing
No Experience to Beginner
Class Start Date: January 18th, End Date: March 21st
Days: Wednesdays, Time: 1:00pm-3:30pm
Drawing is the foundation to all art forms and this class is a great place to start! Our class will work in a variety of drawing mediums while focusing on principles of drawing such as sighting and measuring, composition, and value. Schedule of Classes, (Classes 1-5- Graphite, Classes 6-9-Charcoal):
Class 1) January 18th – Intro to pencil, line, blind contour, contour, cross contour
Class 2) January 25th - Sighting and measuring, box drawing
Class 3) February 1st - Value, egg drawing
Class 4) February 8th – Composition, thumbnail sketches, small still life
No Class February 15th
Class 5) February 22nd Line Quality, Life Drawing (model fee $5)
Class 6) February 29th – Intro to charcoal, value, Fruit drawing
Class 7) March 7th– Positive and Negative space, Reductive Drawing
Class 8 ) March 14th – Gesture, Fabric Drawing
Class 9) March 21st - Form, Life Drawing (model fee $5)

*1 Extra Large vine charcoal stick, willow stick (or buy in class, $1.00)
