Basic Principles of Drawing
No Experience to Beginner
Class Start Date: April 11th, End Date: June 13th (no class June 6th)
Days: Wednesdays, Time: 1:00pm-3:30pm
Drawing is the foundation to all art forms and this class is a great place to start! Our class will work in a variety of drawing mediums while focusing on principles of drawing such as sighting and measuring, composition, and value. We’ll use our time to draw from landscape, still life and life model. jjordanbruns@drifterstudio.com
Age Range: 16 and up
Schedule of Classes, (Classes 1-5- Graphite, Classes 6-9-Charcoal):
Class 1) April 11th – Intro to pencil, line, blind contour, contour, cross contour
Class 2) April 18thth - Sighting and measuring, box drawing
Class 3) April 25th - Value, egg drawing
Class 4) May 2nd – Composition, thumbnail sketches, small still life
Class 5) May 9th – Line Quality, Life Drawing (model fee $5)
*Class 6) May 16th – Intro to charcoal, Positive and Negative space, Reductive Drawing
*Class 7) May 23rd – Working Plein Air (weather permitting)
*Class 8 ) May 30th – Gesture, Fabric Drawing
No Class June 6th
*Class 9) June 13th - Form, Life Drawing (model fee $5)

*1 Extra Large vine charcoal stick, willow stick (or buy in class, $1.00)
